About Our Team
Our team of eye care professionals is experienced and friendly. We’re here to help all patients understand their benefits, schedule appointments, and fulfill their eye doctor’s orders. Our practice can give you guidance in picking out your perfect pair of eyewear, and our friendly office staff is knowledgeable about billing and benefits coverage.
Dr. Michael Chow O.D.
Optometrist
Dr. Chow is a native to the Seattle area, growing up in the Kirkland and graduating from Juanita High School. He did his undergraduate studies at UCSD, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry. Following his undergraduate studies, Dr. Chow attended Southern California College of Optometry. He did his externships at the San Diego Naval Hospital, Madigan Army Medical Center and Veterans Hospital in Bay Pines, Florida. He graduated from Southern Cal in 1995. In January of 2000 Dr. Chow entered business school and earned his MBA in June of 2002.
In Dr. Chow’s his free time he enjoys spending time with his two daughters, jamming in his recording studio and trying to hold on to his days as an avid cyclist.
Dr. Selin Ozkan O.D.
Optometrist
Dr. Ozkan joined Lake Union Vision Clinic when she moved to Seattle in 2014. Dr. Ozkan earned her Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Optometry degrees from the University of Waterloo in Ontario, Canada. She completed an ocular disease externship at the Veterans Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky. She enjoys seeing patients of all ages, even as young as 6 months old.
Dr. Ozkan is a member of the American Optometric Association, Optometric Physicians of Washington and Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity, where she volunteers her skills and expertise both locally and abroad.
In her spare time, Dr. Ozkan can be found outside exploring the endless outdoor playground that is the Pacific Northwest.
Kendra
Optician
Kendra has been working as a dedicated optician for the past 5 years, and has been part of the Lake Union Vision team since 2018! She has a passion for art and science, so what better way to combine those two subjects than Opticianry? She has a keen sense of style and works diligently with patients to fit their personal style needs and occupations! Unsure of the best way to use your insurance? Afraid your prescription is too high for stylish frames? Have no fear, Kendra is here! She values supporting independent frame lines, loves all things vintage, and cant get enough of frames that push the envelope just a little. When she isn’t picking the perfect frame for you on her first try (we’re serious! It’s magic sometimes!) she enjoys painting, rom coms from the 80s, thrifting, and trying out new coffee shops around town!
Mary
Optical Technician
Mary has over 17 years experience in clinical management, and has been the driving force of our Lake Union Vision Team since we opened our doors in 2013! Mary is an expert on answering any medical insurance questions you may have, can get you scheduled from anything to your annual eye exam to a post lasik follow up, and is always quick with a joke/laugh! Many of our patients return knowing that they are in good hands with Mary! She cares deeply for our patients, treats everyone like family, and goes above and beyond to make sure you are taken care of. When she’s not making everyone’s lives better at the office you can find her at home being the ultimate mom to her son, out in nature walking her dog, or curled up watching a Classic Disney film!
Christine
Christine has worked in various medical roles throughout the past few years and she has been with Lake Union Vision Clinic for 6 months now! She has a huge passion for the medical field and helping people. She will relay any and all of the information you have to the doctor to ensure all of your needs are met during your visit with us. Christine is originally from Pennsylvania, she has lived in Seattle for 7 years now. She has two purrfect cats and loves all animals so she likes to make sure we are always stocked up on dog treats, so don’t be surprised if she asks to pet your dog in exchange for a treat!
